From Ms. Roberts:
Next week is Thanksgiving! I can’t believe that next week is conferences. I apologize for not getting out the schedule sheets until Wednesday, but our meeting discussing the times was not until Tuesday after school. You should have received your conference schedule sheets on Wednesday. If you did not, please let me know so that I can be sure the time selected is good for you. There is going to be a Sign Language club after school on Mondays. There is also going to be a Newspaper Club on Thursdays after school. Please send a note in with your child giving permission for them to stay after school if they wish to attend. That way, they may take home the second bus which arrives at the school at 3:45. We had lots of things happening this week in our class, city, county, state, and country. Today, we had our first spelling test! I am happy to say that the students made it through the experience. They brought home another list tonight.
Thank you for sending in your conference time sheets. That is going to help me a lot with scheduling tonight. The students made a thankfulness tree this week. It is displayed proudly on the inside of our classroom door, so you will be able to see it at conferences. It turned out really nice. Each of the students wrote down something that they are thankful for. There is going to be a Newspaper Club beginning on this coming Monday, November 14th. Please send a note in with your child giving permission for them to stay after school and take home the second bus which arrives at the school at 3:45. Important Dates and Upcoming Events:

Student Spotlight Some of our reading classes turned in their read and respond homework for a 92% turnout this week. Keep up the good work! From Ms. Roberts:
November is here! Grading day has also arrived. I have been passing out missing work to the students for the last two weeks in hopes that they will turn it in. As these papers were in-class work and not homework, the students have had a few reminders on checking their lockers, desks, and backpacks to see if they misplaced the papers somewhere. I had work times this week when the students had a chance to redo their work, and turn it in to me for a slightly lesser credit. I am very pleased that a lot of the work was turned in. Our spelling words were passed out last week, and there is a new sheet heading home today to reinforce those spelling words. The test for these words is next Thursday, so if you could practice the words with your student, that would be great. Remember that if you want to volunteer in the class or on a field trip, that you need a background check. The paperwork is available in the office. Important Dates and Upcoming Events:
